Moog Wheel Bearing

When to order Moog wheel bearing and hub assembly?

Ordered & installed a Moog wheel bearing/hub assembly for my 02 Buick Park Ave in January of 2018. Moog always was well respected for manufacturing excellent quality products and have ordered many Moog products over the years (when they were made in the USA) when I worked in an automotive repair shop.

Where is the wheel located on a Moog?

On the brake disc side, the wheel is attached to the bolts of the wheel hub assembly. While on the side of the drive axle, the hub assembly is mounted to the steering knuckle either as a bolt-on or press-in assembly. To see the wheel hub assembly, you’ll need to remove the wheel and then remove the brake caliper and brake rotor.

How do I know Moog parts are made?

Wrong. Of all the “where is Moog made” aspects, this is most interesting: you can’t even narrow it down by part type or even part number! You could order the exact same part number from two different companies and have two different countries of origins. How do I know you ask?

Is there a 10 year warranty on Moog bearings?

Always had good luck & longevity with Moog and Timken bearings but now they are made in China or Mexico. Going with Detroit Axle bearings now because of the 10 year warranty. The speed sensor went bad in this within 3 months of getting it. I have not yet tried to redeem the warranty.
